Our home is high on a hill and very private, with outstanding views of the ocean, Christiansted, Buck Island and Salt River Bay National Historical Park. It has a lovely circular enclosed patio, mimicking the historic round sugar mills frequently seen on the island. This patio is perfect for dining, boat watching, reading, whale-watching or just relaxing and listening to the surf. The home has all the modern amenities, e.g. washer/dryer, dishwasher, stainless steel grill and WIFI. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to make any meal. Corian countertops make for easy clean-up. The master bedroom is huge and has two full walls of glass allowing a sea view while lounging in the king size bed. You won’t be disappointed with this beautiful home!
My wife and I are recently retired from Verizon and live mainly in New Hampshire. We have been coming to beautiful St. Croix for nearly 20 years to escape New Hampshire winters. Our 4 children are grown and we are now enjoying our very young grandchildren.
We love to travel and are always interested in the history of the places we explore. We plan to travel with another retired couple.
The largest of the US Virgin Islands, St Croix is often referred to as the ‘big island’ and is a Leeward island located in the Caribbean Sea. The 83 square mile island is home to 54,000 inhabitants, referred to as Crucians. The island enjoys warm weather year-round (77’F-86’F) with mild trade winds. Previously known as the Danish West Indies, Denmark sold St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John to the United States of America in 1917. English is the common language. The island features water sports as a main attraction including: scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, parasailing, jet skiing, fishing charters, and sailing tours. Hiking to visit beautiful tide pools is also a popular activity. St Croix is also a great destination for golfers with three courses on the island.
Judith's Fancy is located center island on the north shore of St. Croix and is a prestigious gated community. Our home is close to downtown Christiansted with access to shopping, great restaurants and many beaches. The hilltop home has panoramic sea views and also overlooks historic Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve, including a bioluminescent bay, a beautiful beach and pre-historic ruins. Bioluminescent bays are extremely rare with only 7 known to exist in the Caribbean (two on St Croix). Salt River Bay is the site where Christopher Columbus and crew landed on their second voyage to the New World in 1493. Now home to a visitor's center, this historic site is also part of the larger Salt River Bay National Historical Park. Private kayak tours are available at the park.
Passports are not required to travel from the USA to St. Croix.
