This is what Lonely Planet says about Hoi An-
This is our haven in stunning Hoi An, we call it our little paradise. The house is simply decorated - we live with all doors and windows wide in a relaxed and laid back lifestyle.
The house is airy and spacious and the property is quiet. We have plenty of garden both in front of the house, and at the back, leading down to the river. We have neighbours on one side, but it is still a very private property.
We have no pets other than the fish in the pond which the gardener feeds and the toad that lives in the bathroom and coms out at night to hop into the garden - i will only ask you to not step on him!
The main house and our second home, ´the little house´ share a pool. They use different sides of the pool as their personal space.
And about Hoi An - this is what Lonely Planet has to say -
´Graceful, historic Hoi An is Vietnam’s most atmospheric and delightful town. Once a major port, it boasts the grand architecture and beguiling riverside setting that befits its heritage, but the 21st-century curses of traffic and pollution are almost entirely absent. Whether you’ve as little as a day or as long as a month in the town, it’ll be time well spent.´
There is plenty to do here - There´s yoga, stand up paddle boarding, diving, motorbike rides into the mountains, making a new wardrobe in the hundreds of tailor shops, cooking classes and massages , or chilling at one of the loungey bars at the beach. And for those wanting a working break, I work from here, meaning the internet is good for conference calls etc. There are plenty of hotel gyms that can be joined for a month for $50.
