Downstairs we have a large open plan living area (we use it as the children's play area) and kitchen and dining area, a separate lounge, separate dining room and garage with treadmill. The dining room has an ensuite bathroom (it was designed be a bedroom but we use it as a dining room) and there is another toilet too. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a large balcony with a further seating area. Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed with mosquito net and also a seating area at the end of the room. Bedroom 2 has a kingsize bed and large ensuite bathroom with corner bath/shower. Bedroom 3 has a single bed and a cot in it. There is a separate bathroom with shower for Bedrooms 1 and 3.
Outside there is a front paved area with 3 palm trees, children's slide and paddling pool. This area is totally shaded all afternoon which makes for great safe play for little ones. Out the back is the washing and drying facilities.
We are fortunate enough to have a wonderful housekeeper who will come and work Monday - Friday from 9 - 5pm (or less if you'd prefer it) and do all your washing, ironing and cleaning of the house. She is Vietnamese so can also help with any translation you need for your stay. Her English is pretty good too!
Our house is in one of the ex-pat districts of Ho Chi Minh City. The neighbourhood is close to Western supermarkets, some amazing restaurants and spas and lots of child friendly places. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city centre by taxi where you will find all the tourist attractions. Taxi's are easy to call and speak English on the phone. Our housekeeper can help arrange anything you want and can even go shopping for you.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is a great base for heading out to explore the Mekong Delta for a 2 or 3 day trip (whilst leaving the majority of your luggage at the house) and is an hour or less plane ride away from the delights of Hoi An or Nha Trang. The city itself, of course, has loads to do in it!
We have lived in Vietnam for nearly 8 years and both came out here to teach at the nearby International school. We are both teachers with 2 small children aged 2 and 1 so have lots of toys for younger children and some that would suit older ones too.
We are both interested in good food and wine, reading and travelling. In our time in Vietnam, we have visited the majority of South East Asia and we are happy to share tips and experiences.
We have 2 cats - Fat Jack who will give you lots of affection, and Chica who will keep herself to herself!
