Travel protection

If your host has to cancel at the last minute, we’ll cover any travel costs you have incurred if we can’t find you similar, alternative accommodation. One call to our membership team within 24 hours of the cancellation is all it takes.

1. Let us know within 24 hours of your host cancelling the swap and we’ll follow up with them to confirm.

2. We’ll help to find similar, alternative accommodation in the same location during the same period from our other members.

3. If that’s not possible, we’ll cover any travel costs incurred.

4. Trip cancellation assistance covers travel costs for up to $3,200. It does not cover any other costs.


We'll try to source alternative accommodation for the same dates in the same region with one of our other members. If that's not possible we'll cover the costs of your travel, for up to $3,200.


No. Your Travel Protection will only apply if the other party you're swapping with cancels your trip.

Damage protection

We want you to feel relaxed in your host’s home.

That’s why Traveller+ protects you and your party against accidental damage up to $6,200.

Users on an annual, one year, membership for the duration of agreeing a trip and the trip taking place.

For Traveller+ to apply for your trip you must upgrade before or within 7 days of agreeing a trip


1. You’re covered, up to $6,200 for any accidental damage or breakage caused by any member of your trip party in your host’s home.

2. Report any damage as soon as possible. Claims submitted after 60 days from the date of the incident will be invalid.

3. For the avoidance of doubt, guests should report any pre-existing damage within 24 hours of the start of their stay in the host’s home.

4. On acceptance of the claim, payment will be made to the hosts on presentation of receipts for replacements and/or repair.


Damage Protection covers you for any accidental damage caused to your host's home and possessions. You're covered for up to $6,200 total accidental damage costs (up to $3,200 if the damage is caused by pets).

When you agree a trip you’ll be given the option to upgrade to Traveller+ after clicking the agree button.

Alternatively you can head to the Traveller+ information page where you can upgrade at any time
